It's time to Purge!

Okay everyone just wanted to let all my bloggy friends know that I will be having a garage sale in 2 weeks. I am hoping for the first weekend of April but with April showers I am watching the weather like a hawk. We will have a lot of baby stuff and some clothes and all kinds of other things.

Blessed and Impressed

Maybe it's the spring weather and the beautiful days but I just feel so blessed lately. I have been around and read a bunch of other mommy blogs and see the suffering on the news. It breaks my heart! I hate that there are so many people that are in need of help. It really makes me realize what I have! I am so happy in life right now. I love my husband and have such a great time with him. He is a great father and a wonderful step-dad! I am so lucky to have him. I never imagined that I would ever marry again. I really never wanted to. But there was something about Blake that just made it seem possible and I knew right away he was for me! Steven is so big! I can't even believe how much he has changed this year. He is a very well mannered and sweet child. He is such a great big brother and a wonderful helper around the house. He is smart when he wants to be. He's also trying out for the football team at Cedar Ridge! Can you believe it? I am praying that he makes it. I love football and I would be the crazy mom in the stands cheering her heart out. And of course there is still Bryce! Oh he is at the most perfect age of innocence. He is such a chatterbox right now. To think that I was afraid that he wasn't going to say too much. He used to not talk as well as some other children we know and I was worried. Well no need to worry now because he repeats everything we say. I have started on manners and he now says thank you and excuse me. Sometimes I still have to remind him but he does really well for a little guy. He is very sweet and a big mommy' s boy. We have started having problem with his passi and blankie. All of the sudden he is really attached to them. So that is my next project with the Bman.

I know this is a long one but I just wanted to make sure that I had it down somewhere that I am very happy with my life and my family. I won't always be here and I want my family to know that they are wonderful. Don't worry nothings wrong.... I just worry that sometimes the really good feelings are said enough. Thank you God for everything that you have given me!

Praise Him!!!

Doom and gloom seems to be all we hear about and after blog hopping today I was inspired to praise God for all of my blessings! I am just going to list them.

1. I have two gorgeous and healthy children. I love them dearly and thank Him everyday for these two precious gifts!

2. I love my husband and I am so happy with him. Thank you Lord for bringing me to him!

3. My oldest has decided that he wants to be baptised! Praise Jesus!

4. I have a house that I can afford and food to fill my tummy.

5. My husband and I both have jobs that we can depend on. I love my job and the people I work with.

6. I should finish school on October 25, 2009!!!

So, now that you have heard my praises and blessings I am imploring you to please pray again for my best friend's child Levi! He was dehydrated and went into the hospital 2 days ago. He now has developed pneumonia and will be staying a little longer than expected. Please pray that the Lord restores his health to his little body.

Weekly savings

So, I have been trying really hard to be a frugal mommy. We are going to try to lay out a budget soon for everything as soon as I get the house stocked. We will follow it to the letter and I hope to start getting out of credit card debt. We don't have much but I want to pay those boogers off and cut them up for good! Here is what I saved this week!

Total spent without coupons and savings: $339.45
Total Out of Pocket: $145.32
Total Savings: $194.13

I saved 57% by just using coupons. I also would not have spent this much but diapers had a great deal and I stocked and stocked on diapers so we are now set until the summer. I also had to buy some shaving cream and some other things that I did not have a coupon for. YAY! I am learning slowly but surely.

Jack Frost is back again!

The cold weather has returned. I thought that we would be getting some spring like temps but no, back to the high 30's! I cannot believe it. We even left the air on last night and it was 62 in our house this morning when we woke up. However, on the bright side all of us slept really good last night and Bryce woke up in an excellent mood.(the time change has been killing him all week)

Loving the Sunshine!

I am so ready for this! I can't wait to go swimming and all of this wonderful weather is just giving the itch! It is in the 80's in Alabama today and tonight it is supposed to rain and bring back the springy temps.

I do have another prayer request. This family had adopted a little girl over the weekend only to have the birth mother come back and take the baby. When you cannot have children and adoption is your answer, to have this happen is just like a miscarriage. Being an adopted child I feel for this mother. Trust me blood is not thicker than water!

Just call me Ms. Frugallity!

I have really trying to cut back on our grocery bill. Well, I am trying to cut back on all of our bills but that is too much at once. So, in an attempt to save money I have been reading multiple blogs about how to coupon. I have never been good at this, only saving a buck or two at a time. Then I found http://fiddledeedeeblog.blogspot.com/. Publix is my favorite grocery store. It is so much cleaner than some other stores in town. Well Ms. Fiddledeedee is a whiz at this coupon game so I decided to give it a try. Wow when you pay attention it is not that hard and Publix had a great ad last week! My total savings on last weeks grocery bill was $124 on $134 worth of groceries! I am pumped and can't wait to continue.

What a great weekend!

We had a great time spending time together this weekend! My mom and dad also returned home from a trip to Cali! Lucky dogs. Steven and Bryce were so so happy to see them! Saturday we headed to huntsvegas for a cookout at one of Blake's good friends. I love his wife and she has older kids too so it is always fun to hang out with them. Although, we realized that our family has not been at their house in 3 1/2 years! I have got to do better. Before we went to their house we went to my favorite store, Kirklands. I have been wanting to decorate better in the house and I had a coupon (I will blog later about this) so off we went. I found a bunch of great stuff and the house is starting to look as if people live there. Here is a picture of my mantle. Blake does not like the paintings on there but I love them.

After such a great weekend we headed to bed early on Sunday night in anticipation of the coming work week, only to be woken up around 1AM with a stomach bug. Thank God we bought this house because our old house only had one bathroom and both of us were sick allllll night long. It has been a rough week so far. Blake just today returned to work!

Blizzard of 2009

Here in Alabama, we see snow maybe once a year and usually it never sticks. To my surprise Sunday morning everyone was still asleep when I woke up. Something told me to look out in the backyard. It was snowing! This was a gorgeous, big and flakey snow! So after the kids got up and I finally got dressed we headed out into the fun! So, I did mention that we live in Alabama right? Bryce does not have gloves. What do we need them for?

1. It doesn't get that cold here
2. He wouldn't wear them anyway
So I had to find my ski gloves and he wore those. He definitely could not go outside without some sort of gloves on. I have never understood why but when there is a chance of snow here people make a dash for the grocery store to buy eggs and milk. I am not a fan of milk and do not drink it! YUCK! But why if I am stuck in a house would I want to only have eggs and milk? I have bagels and sandwich meat. We tried to play quickly because Steven wanted to sled down some hills near mom's house. So we played, ate breakfast, and loaded into the car. Within 10 minutes the snow was melting quicker than Frosty without his hat. I hated that Steven couldn't go sledding but maybe the next time. Whenever that is!
