Saturday morning I decided to treat the kiddos to a wonderful and tasty breakfast that my parents used to do for us growing up. We made homemade deep fried doughnuts. It is so much fun to make these and kids (and parents) love them. All you have to do is get out your fry daddy and grab a can of biscuits. Now, since I have been doing this awhile, I have a doughnut hole maker and in our family we enjoy the holes more than making round doughnuts. I have heard that people also cut them up or tear them and throw them in the fry daddy. I love this little way to have a fun family activity.
Here are the ingredients! Powdered Sugar and Can Biscuits

Prayers Needed
As I have been reading and blog hopping, I have run across a lot of blogs for people who need our prayers! As a mother I cannot imagine what these parents are going through. Please think of them and lift them up the next time you have a great chat with the Man upstairs.
http://laurensblog.greenfamily.net/: This family just lost quads.
http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/: I love to read Kelly's blog. Her first baby was born last month and had pneumonia. She spent some time in the NICU. They are now home but I ask that we continue to remember them.
http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/ : Cora passed away after a very short fight with stage 4 Neuroblastoma
http://ashleybroach.blogspot.com/ : Lost one of her 18 month old twins to a brain tumor the day after Christmas
http://www.dynamicmikelsduo.blogspot.com/ Her little girl is battling cancer for the second time.
Also, on a close to home note: A wonderful mother and friend passed away here in Decatur. I ask that everyone remember the King/Pierce family as they mourn their mother, friend, and wife.

Getting home to my baby!
No matter how nice it was to get away, it just wasn't as fun as it could be because the little man couldn't be there. As soon as he got home he didn't want to leave Grandma. Now it is hard for me when he doesn't but then I remember never wanting to leave my Grandma, so I can't say that I blame him. Grandma's make everything better. I bribed him with a sucker to make him stop crying and then we had a great time playing in moms room. Here he is eating his sucker. He loves to wear this hat. My mom made it for him.
Skiing with the Scouts!
My Valentine's Day was awesome!!! We started out at 6am meeting at Central United Methodist to meet up with the group of scouts that were going skiing! Our family has never been skiing and I must say that it is a great time! We had a group of 19. This is the first real trip that we have been on with this troop. I haven't been as involved as I like to be since Bryce was born. We are trying to learn how to balance what the scouts do with having a two year old. We were really lucky this weekend and Grandma and Grandpa decided to keep him for us. It was hard for me because I have never really left him and then I felt bad for going to do something that was fun without him. After we got there I was okay because there was no way that Bryce could of done anything up there. 31/2 is the age that kids can start skiing. So we will make one more trip without him.
So, we went to Winterplace in West Virginia. They have a great program up there for scouts and church groups and I recommend it to anyone. The only thing that I didn't care for was the food. They arranged everything for us. We stayed at a Days Inn and it was a nice little place and the boys were very well behaved. (they are scouts, so they better be) Blake and I had our own room so it was a nice little getaway weekend. Steven decided that he wanted to snowboard. He did excellent. He barely took any of the classes and was able to stay up really good. He just couldn't stop very well. He would always just fall down. He regrets that decision now. Blake tried to snowboard but learned quickly that skiing might just be a little easier. I stuck with skiing and had such a great time. I hated the lifts, though! I am a weenie. Yep, I said it, a weenie. Since the kids were born I like to do things that do not involve anything were I could die. God and I had some talks while on those lifts. Thank goodness it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Although the lift did smack me in the back once and I fell flat on my face in front of everyone. Now, I have never skied before so I took a ski school class and the only thing that was taught to me was how to stop. I like to be in control and found it hard to let loose on those skis. I did okay, though. I skied mainly easy trails however, Blake and I did hit up two intermediate trails. I was very proud of myself. We did go back to ski after dinner Sunday night and boy was I glad we did. I didn't fall once that night AND it snowed the entire time. It was beautiful. The snow didn't stop until the next day when we got into Virginia on the way home. All in all it was a wonderful trip and can't wait until next year!!!!
Here is the group on a rainy morning getting ready to load up!
Here I am trying to take a picture on the way up but my lovely husband has such the sense of humor.
I loved the tunnels!
Fun with the Curtain
It doesn't take much for Steven and Bryce to have fun. Steven wanted to play hide and seek with Bryce. Bryce thought that he had found the perfect hiding spot in our curtains that are in front of our glass doors. They did this for at least an hour. Bryce would hide and then pop out and just laugh and laugh. How sweet are these little toes?!
Can you find Bryce? He is a really good hider.
I know he looks a mess but I finally broke down Friday and cut his hair. We were trying to let it grow to see how it would look. To say the least I like it cut. Plus, he is teething his pointy teeth so there has been a constant flow of drool out of his mouth. I loved this. I just sat in the floor and watched them play. It really made me want to be young again.
Climbing Wall Event
I told you that we have been busy! I have taken over the publicity coordinator position for Troop 260 so I have been busy trying to get the word out about events for the scouts. We just had our annual climbing wall event at DGH West. We invite the younger boys who are about to move up to join us and we just have a bunch of fun, some climbing, and some really yummy hot dogs! It went well and hopefully we will have a couple of the boys join us when they bridge to boy scouts in the upcoming months.
Here is Steven getting ready to climb.
Early Works
We went to Santa's Village in downtown Huntsville during December and they gave us four tickets to Early Works. Well the coupons were about to expire so we packed up the last Saturday of January and headed back to Huntsville for some much needed family time! We had a great time but need to come back when Bryce is a little bit older. Steven was too big for most stuff. He found some things he liked but he mainly had fun playing with Bryce. He is the best big brother anyone could have.
TEN MILE HIKE!!!
I don't know how he does it but he loves hiking with the scouts. Here he is on the way to his ten mile hike in the rain. The best part about this trip was when he got home he said, "Mr. Brown said not to let you pack for me anymore." Apparently, scouts don't need umbrellas. I packed everything because my baby was going hiking in the rain. And I don't mean a sprinkle. It was raining hard! His next hike is going to be the Walls of Jericho and he is ready!
Catching up from January!
Sorry to post all of these now but I just now plugged the camera in since Christmas! Every Friday night my mom and dad go to La Hacienda to eat. They have Roman come and sing on Fridays and Dad and Roman really get along. Mom and Dad are regulars there and we have been going there for a little over 2 years. Here we are celebrating Erin and Zac's birthdays.

Sickly, Sickly
I have not had too much going on this last week. Bryce has been sick. He starting running a fever on Monday morning. I just returned to work today. He has been a sick puppy. He has an ear infection and a "yucky throat"! I am just thankful that it wasn't RSV or Strep. So I have been spending the last couple of days living it up as a stay at home mom and loving it! I hate that he was sick but I loved being with him all the time. He loves to have Thomas and the Magic Railroad playing all the time! I have watched enough of this movie to last a lifetime. Bryce loves it and it is all that he wants to watch. He has watched it more in the last couple of months than Steven did in years. I also received a call from Steven today that he is not feeling good and he is home in the bed now too! So, tonight I lysol again! We are trying spring clean this time! Even with two sick kids I LOVE BEING A MOMMY!
No other news right now. We are gearing up for the big scout ski trip on Valentine's weekend. I am pumped! I have never done this before and am very excited and so is Steven. It is also like a getaway for me and Blake because my mom will be watching Bryce. Next year he is going and I bet he loves it too!
